DPF SOLUTIONS
The diesel particulate filter (DPF) is a device designed to remove diesel particulate matter or soot from the exhaust gas of a diesel engine.
DPFs play a crucial role in reducing harmful emissions from diesel-powered vehicles. However, like any component, DPFs are not immune to problems.
The DPF has a complex honeycomb ceramic structure designed to filter the exhaust gases while minimising flow reduction. By forcing the exhaust gases through the walls between the channels of the DPF, the particulate matter is deposited on the walls, reducing the amount of air pollution.
One of the most prevalent problems with DPFs is clogging. Over time, the filter can become saturated with soot and other particulates, reducing its effectiveness. You may notice reduced engine performance, increased exhaust smoke, and the illumination of the DPF warning light on your dashboard.
- Are you having problems with your DPF?
- Do you have DPF warning lights on your dash?
- Is your car in “limp” mode?
- Are you experiencing poor acceleration or MPG?
Sometimes it is necessary to electronically disable the DPF system along with removing the associated dashboard lights and warning messages permanently. This can be done using our ECU remapping service.
Our DFP delete service is sold as an off-road use product. Learn more.
